A new pair of pillowcases is often the simplest way to try a new range or introduce a fresh colour or style to an existing linen set. Our luxury pillowcases are available in the classic Oxford style with a decorative tailored border, in standard, king and large square formats. Standard and king sizes coordinate naturally with the proportions of your bed, while large square pillowcases suit the continental-style pillows often used for sitting up in bed or layering behind smaller pillows.

What is the difference between a housewife and an Oxford pillowcase?
A housewife pillowcase fits snugly around the pillow with no visible border, and the fabric simply tucks under at one end. An Oxford pillowcase has a broad, flat flange that extends beyond the pillow edge, giving it a more tailored, structured appearance on the bed. All our pillowcases are Oxford style. The flange adds a frame of fabric around the pillow that sits neatly whether the bed is dressed or freshly made.
What size pillowcase do I need?
The right size depends on your pillow insert. Our standard Oxford pillowcases measure 75 x 50cm and fit most standard pillows. King Oxford pillowcases measure 90 x 50cm for longer pillows typically for use on Superking and Emperor bed sizes, and large square Oxford pillowcases measure 65 x 65cm for continental-style square pillows. Are your pillowcases sold individually or in pairs?
This depends on your chosen pillowcase design. Some of our pillowcases, such as those from our Georgiana and Thea ranges, can be purchased individually. Others are sold in sets of two as standard. Check the size dropdown on the product listing to view buying options for your chosen pillowcase.
Are your cotton pillowcases OEKO-TEX® certified?
Yes. Each pillowcase in our collection carries OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, meaning it has been independently tested for a wide range of harmful chemicals and substances. This applies to the textile, dyes and finishings as well as the finished product.
How often should I change my pillowcases?
Pillowcases benefit from more frequent washing than other bed linen, since they are in direct contact with the face and hair each night. We recommend changing them every few days or at least weekly, and more often in warmer months or for those with sensitive skin.
How should I wash cotton pillowcases?
We recommend washing cotton pillowcases at up to 40°C with a gentle detergent. Avoid bleach and optical brightening agents, which can affect coloured trims and decorative details. Tumble dry on a low setting, or air dry and finish briefly in the tumble dryer to restore smoothness. Percale and sateen may have slightly different care recommendations, so check the label for your specific range.
