We use sustainable natural rattan that comes from areas of provenance where the cane grows well and regrows quickly. Long, solid canes are cut to length and shaped into a frame, which is then hand-woven by makers who have spent years honing their craft. It is slow, skilled work, and the reason the weave sits so tightly.

Finding The Right Rattan Laundry Hamper

Size is the first thing to consider. Our standard rectangular and round laundry baskets stand 46cm (18in) tall to the rim (52cm / 20.5in with the lid on) and slip neatly beside a bath or beneath a run of shelving, which makes them well suited to a bathroom where space is limited. Our extra-large basket offers more capacity at H65 x W75 x D36cm (25.6 x 29.5 x 14.2in), with three compartments and handles to each side for carrying a full load through to the machine.

A rattan laundry basket with a lid keeps a room feeling calm and organised, and our lids lift away completely when you need both hands. Our round and large rectangular baskets include a removable cotton liner.

What sizes do your rattan laundry baskets come in?

Our rectangular basket measures H46 x W46 x D31cm (18.1 x 18.1 x 12.2in). Our round basket is 46cm (18in) tall to the rim, 52cm (20.5in) with its lid, with a diameter of 34-41cm (13.4-16.1in). The extra-large compartment basket measures H65 x W75 x D36cm (25.6 x 29.5 x 14.2in). All come with removable lids. Please note the rectangular basket is available to order online for UK delivery, with international delivery quoted on request.

Can you keep a rattan laundry basket in a bathroom?

Yes. Our laundry baskets are designed for everyday storage in bathrooms and bedrooms. As with natural rattan generally, we recommend keeping them away from standing water and allowing any damp laundry to dry before placing it inside.

How do you clean a rattan laundry hamper?

We recommend wiping rattan with a soft, slightly damp cloth and using a soft brush or vacuum attachment to remove dust from the weave. Avoid soaking the cane or using harsh cleaning products, and allow it to dry thoroughly after cleaning.

What is the difference between rattan and wicker?
