How to Elevate your Everyday Dining

We believe in elevating the everyday. Rather than saving your most beloved tableware pieces for special occasions, enjoying them on a day-to-day basis to add a little joy to your daily routines. Whether that means laying the table for breakfast or treating every evening meal like a dinner party, here are a few tips and tricks for how to elevate your everyday dining.

Use a tablecloth

Adding a tablecloth will instantly elevate any table – whether it’s an al fresco dinner or a casual brunch in your kitchen. A pretty floral pattern or gingham check works wonderfully all year round, or a ruffled white linen tablecloth is perfect for absolutely any occasion. Choose to match your napkins to your tablecloth for a more formal look, or mix-and-match to add a splash of colour.

Introduce texture

Rattan chargers, scalloped placemats or abaca placemats are all perfect for adding a hint of texture to your table. For more casual dining, simply place your plates on top of chargers, or if you’re wanting a more formal table, add waxed linen placemats for an extra layer. Rattan trays, baskets and ice buckets are also perfect for introducing texture.

Choose matching cutlery

You may not think it matters for everyday dining, but using a matching set of cutlery is a quick and easy way to make your table feel more elegant. Whether you opt for classic line or ivory cutlery, or more contemporary bamboo or wooden handles, matching knives and forks will instantly create a more polished table setting.

Use your best crockery and glassware

Don’t hide away your favourite plates, bowls and glassware for those rare special occasions: use them everyday to both enjoy them and to elevate your dining experience. Display them on open shelves or in a glass cabinet so you can easily find your favourite pieces.

Add flowers to the table

Fill one of our urns or vases with fresh blooms (bought from a florist or foraged from your garden) to instantly elevate the table. If you don't have space for a large vase, place a few glass bud vases around the table to hold smaller posies.
