Thanksgiving with The Nat Note

Ahead of Thanksgiving, I caught up with Natalie to chat about how she plans to celebrate and to share her edit of her favourite REBECCA UDALL pieces for a Thanksgiving table.

How do you plan to celebrate Thanksgiving this year? 
In my hometown of Miami, Florida with my family. 

Do you have any special traditions either for the day itself, or in preparation? 
My family is Cuban, so our Thanksgiving is usually less turkey and gravy and more pork and plantains. The dinner conversation ebbs and flows between English and Spanish, and usually concludes in the late hours with a game of Trivial Pursuit. 

Could you share your tips for styling a Thanksgiving table? 
Pair some unexpected, cheeky elements with the warm, autumnal tones we usually associate with the holiday to make your table just as (or more!) fun as it is formal. Whether they are colourful Millefiori Murano glass tumblers or surprise place cards with nicknames or family jokes ("most likely to ask for salt & pepper", "most likely to fall asleep at the table", etc.). Including a pop of bright colour and some humour can make all the difference. 

What finishing touches do you add to elevate your Thanksgiving table? 
Vibrant florals coupled with plenty of soft candlelight. The Sophia tea light holders are perfect for this - I use them year-round! 

Do you have some favourite dishes to serve for a Thanksgiving meal? 
For me, a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal is all about the sides (stuffing & sweet potato with marshmallows) and dessert (pecan pie!). 

What will you be giving thanks for this year? 
My growing family - we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a baby girl early next year.
