Beautifully Crafted Bedroom Accessories

At Rebecca Udall, our luxury bedroom accessories are chosen for the quality of the materials, the expertise of the maker and the considered details that give each piece its character. We work with skilled artisans to bring our designs to life, and this is where the difference shows.

Our rattan baskets and trays are hand-woven in areas of provenance using techniques that have been passed down through generations. Our bedspreads are crafted from the finest cotton for breathability and longevity, with thoughtful finishing touches such as hand-quilting and elegant scalloped edging. Our vases and ceramics are masterfully hand-painted, each a unique work of art.

Each accessory in our collection is designed for durability and timeless design, bringing both form and function to your bedroom. They also make wonderful gifts.

Layering Your Bedroom with Considered Detail

A well-considered bedroom builds in layers. We've found that the most welcoming bedrooms hold a balance of texture, weight, and tone. A softly draped throw at the foot of the bed; a pair of cushions in complementary fabrics; an embroidered detail that adds a touch of whimsy and joy. And then, of course, the finishing touches that bring character to a bedside or dresser.

Our bedroom accessories are designed to work in conversation with one another. A linen velvet cushion sits naturally beside a quilted bedspread, while a wool throw brings additional warmth in winter. Accessories such as handcrafted trays, decorative ceramic vases and marquetry photo frames add to the personality and ambience of a room, whether you choose calming neutrals or playful pops of colour. Layer alongside our cotton bed linen for a bedroom that feels generous, composed and considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you still have some questions please do feel free to get in touch with us.

What are bedroom accessories?

Bedroom accessories are the finishing touches that turn a furnished room into a personal one. They include cushions, throws, bedspreads, decorative pillows, vases, photo frames, trays, baskets, and other pieces that add character beyond bed linen. They're often the most expressive part of a bedroom, where colour, texture and detail can be brought in more freely than with larger furnishings.

How many cushions should you have on a bed, and what sizes work best?

This is largely a personal preference, though we've found three to five cushions in mixed sizes tend to work well. For a king or super-king bed, a pair of Euro shams (typically 65x65cm) sits well against the headboard. Add standard sleeping pillows in front and one or two smaller decorative cushions (around 40x40cm, or a long bolster) as a finishing detail. A simpler scheme of two larger cushions can feel equally balanced on a smaller bed.

What is the difference between a bedspread, a throw, and a blanket?

A bedspread is the largest of the three. It is a single layer that covers the bed entirely, often quilted or finished with decorative pleating, used as a daytime cover or layered under a duvet for added warmth. A blanket is a slightly smaller, often warmer piece designed primarily for use under the covers. A throw is more informal, typically folded across the foot of the bed or draped over an armchair, used for warmth and decorative texture in equal measure.

How do you care for handcrafted bedroom accessories?

Care varies by material. As a general principle, natural fibres respond best to a gentle wash and careful drying. Bear in mind that hand-finished details benefit from gentler treatment; this might mean washing inside out, on a delicate cycle, or dry cleaning only. Woven pieces, ceramics and frames simply call for a soft dust or a wipe with a barely damp cloth. Always follow the care guidelines for the specific item.

What materials are best for bedroom cushions and throws?

Natural fibres tend to do the most for a bedroom. Linen carries a relaxed, gently textured handle that ages beautifully and softens with every wash. Cotton offers crispness and breathability, well suited to lighter, summer-weight pieces. Wool throws bring warmth and a quiet weight that drapes well across the foot of the bed. We choose our textiles from European makers whose materials are selected for longevity as much as feel.

Should bedroom accessories match your bed linen?

You can choose coordinating accessories, but this is down to your preference. A gently contrasting pallet can help a bedroom feel lived-in and characterful. A pale neutral bed linen takes well to a cushion, throw or ceramic in a deeper tone, like a soft rose, a sage green, or a warm rust. Similarly, patterned bed linen sits beautifully alongside cushions in plain complementary fabrics.
