What should I put in a Christmas stocking or sack?
Stockings work especially well for smaller presents, useful little luxuries, sweets, keepsakes and gifts that are enjoyable to discover one by one. Avoid filling the stocking entirely with one type of present. Instead, aim for a mixture of practical and personal pieces.
A Christmas sack can work well for larger presents. The same sack can serve a different purpose from one Christmas to the next, depending on what you are gifting.
How big are your Christmas stockings and sacks?
All our stockings measure 48.5cm long and 18.5cm wide. That’s generous enough for a few well-chosen treats and the traditional satsuma in the toe, while still hanging neatly from the mantelpiece or the end of the bed. If you choose a personalised stocking, the embroidered Italian linen gift tag measures 17 x 10cm.
Our Christmas sacks measure 79.2 x 67cm (31 x 26in). The soft construction gives a Christmas sack more flexibility than a rigid gift box, making it useful for presenting large or uniquely shaped presents. If you’re planning to use a Christmas sack for a specific gift, check the size before ordering to ensure it will fit.
Where can I hang a Christmas stocking if I do not have a fireplace?
A fireplace is traditional, but not essential. Christmas stockings can also be hung from a staircase, bedpost, sturdy hook or decorative rail, or placed beneath the tree. Choose a spot that makes them easy to find on Christmas morning without overcrowding the rest of the room.

How do I add personalisation?
Simply choose the “with Personalised Gift Tag” option for the stocking or sack you’d like, then enter a name in the field provided before adding it to your basket. Each tag is embroidered to order and has space for up to 12 characters.
Make sure you order by 2nd December for UK delivery before Christmas Day. (For international orders, please order by 27th November).
