Tablecloths
Our Linen Tablecloth Collections
You will find a range of styles in our tablecloth collection. Each is crafted with the same attention to fibre, weave and finish. Our Classic Hemstitch linens feature discreet, carefully worked detailing for a refined, timeless table, while the Basketweave collection brings a gently textured weave that adds warmth and depth to a setting. For those drawn to playful colour and pattern, our hand-painted printed designs add personality to both everyday meals and celebratory gatherings.
All our table linens carry OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, ensuring the fabrics are tested and verified free from harmful substances. We believe in buying less and buying well; each tablecloth is woven to be used daily, washed with ease, and enjoyed for a long time to come. Our collections of crockery and glassware are designed to sit harmoniously alongside our linens.
Why is linen the best fabric for tablecloths?
Linen is woven from flax, producing one of the strongest natural fibres available. This gives it exceptional durability for daily use. It releases stains more easily than cotton or other natural fabrics, absorbs moisture readily, and dries quickly. In addition, linen has an exceptional drape and looks beautiful on the table. Over time, linen softens beautifully, meaning a well-chosen tablecloth will feel better with each wash.
How do I choose the right size tablecloth?
As a general guide, allow for a drop of around 25–40 cm on each side of the table. Drop length, however, is personal preference. Please allow shrinkage of approximately 5%, with the first wash only, as is typical with linen. Measure the length and width (or diameter for round tables) and add twice your preferred drop to each dimension. We carry a range of sizes, including generous 500 cm lengths and widths of up to 190cm, so there is a fit for most settings. If you are looking for a larger size, we also offer bespoke tablecloths in our Classic Hemstitch linen range.
How do I care for my linen tablecloth?
Linen is a hardwearing fabric that launders well at moderate temperatures. We recommend a gentle machine wash at 30°C and air drying for most of our linens. Linen does crease naturally, which many people appreciate as part of its relaxed character. If you prefer a smoother finish, iron while still slightly damp on a medium–high setting. For specific guidance, our care guide covers the details.
What makes European flax linen different?
European flax is widely regarded as the finest in the world, owing to the region’s temperate climate and mineral-rich soil. The resulting fibres are longer, more consistent, and produce a smoother, more lustrous cloth. All our luxury tablecloths are woven from European flax, and our finest collections are Italian-woven and finished for an especially refined handle.
How do I remove stains from a linen tablecloth?
Linen’s natural fibre structure means it releases most food and drink stains more readily than cotton or other natural fibres. For best results, treat stains promptly by rinsing with cold water and applying a mild stain remover before laundering as usual. Avoid bleach, which can weaken the fibres over time. With regular care, a good linen tablecloth will remain looking fresh for years.
