Candlesticks and Holders for Table Candles
Our candleware brings together pieces for holding, arranging and caring for table candles around the home. Alma candlesticks are individually hand glazed in Portugal, while our ceramic Daisy candlesticks are hand painted with their vintage-inspired detailing. Silver-plated snuffers draw on a traditional antique design and offer a simple way to extinguish a flame without disturbing hot wax.
We like combining different heights and materials rather than keeping every candleholder the same. A taller candlestick beside a lower holder or tealight can give candlelight a more relaxed rhythm across a dining table, mantelpiece or sideboard. Coloured candles add another layer, whether you favour chalky neutrals, soft blues and greens or deeper tones as the seasons change.
For gifting, a boxed set of candles can be paired with a snuffer or candlesticks for something thoughtful and useful.

What size candles do your candlesticks take?
Our taper candles measure 35cm high (14in) and 2.2cm (0.9in) in diameter at the base. Our Alma candlesticks have a 2.5cm (1in) candle socket and are designed to fit all Rebecca Udall taper candles. The candles also have a standard tapered base for use with most other candlesticks.
How do I stop taper candles from dripping?
Our taper candles are non-drip when cared for correctly and kept away from draughts. We keep ours away from open windows and air conditioning and trim the wick to around 1cm before lighting. A candle snuffer also extinguishes the flame without disturbing the hot wax.
How should I store taper candles between uses?
We recommend storing our taper candles flat in a cool place. This helps them retain their shape between uses. Keeping them in their gift box also offers a simple way to protect and store them until they are next needed.
Are your candles suitable as a gift?
Our Danish taper candles arrive as sets of six in a Rebecca Udall gift box, making them particularly well suited to host gifts, birthdays and smaller presents. You might also pair them with a candle snuffer or candlestick for a useful gift that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Do you sell scented candles?
Yes. Alongside our own dinner candles, we stock a small selection of Trudon scented candles, hand poured in France by candlemakers established in 1643, as well as their gold Madeleine taper candles. Explore the Trudon collection.
How many candles do I need for a dinner table?
This largely comes down to the size of the table and the atmosphere you prefer. We tend to mix several candles at different heights rather than arranging them in a rigid line. On a longer table, smaller groups of candlelight can also sit comfortably amongst serveware, flowers and table linens.
What colour candles work well for a dinner party?
Colour is personal preference and can be guided by the linens, crockery or flowers already on the table. We are drawn to deeper reds and greens for richer seasonal tables, while softer blues, greens and neutral shades bring a lighter feel to everyday lunches and dinners.
Can I order taper candles in bulk for an event?
